The Natale Family | Connecticut Newborn Session

Two years ago I had the honor of photographing Brittany and James’s wedding at the Pond House Cafe and the gardens behind it at Elizabeth Park in West Hartford. Just a little over two years later, we gathered under the same arch to recreate some of those photos with their newborn son, Easton. The arch, last time in early spring, looked much the same as our last visit. But the family underneath has grown some! It is amazing how quickly life changes and hearts grow. It is one of my greatest pleasures as a photographer to be able to connect with my previous couples over the years. It feels like a family reunion, reconnecting for photographs.

I know how much photos mean to me and my loved ones. I feel so warm thinking of how these photos will impact a baby’s first photo album and how the pictures taken will be treasured throughout the years. Will one of these pictures one day make it into a senior yearbook? Will baby Easton one day put them side by side with pictures of his own child to see the similarities? Will his grandchildren see them one day? I put these images out into the world like little postcards meant for future generations.

Little Easton was pretty sleepy for most of the photo shoot (which is so funny, because normally with newborn sessions I have the opposite happen and we can’t get those sweet sleeping photos), but he did open his eyes for a couple portraits then swiftly fell back asleep and cuddled back into the warm arms of mom and dad. With newborn family sessions I never know what to expect and you cannot plan them perfectly, but they always turn out exactly as they should, even if they’re unlike what we first planned. A year from now Easton is going to be toddling around and unable to sit still for pictures, which is why photography for families is so important. Children grow so fast!

Brittany brought the cutest baby basket with her to the gardens and we took these sweet portraits amongst the flowers. It was a little chilly and Easton definitely missed the warmth of his parents and stroller, but we managed to capture these sweet portraits at sunset.

He is such a sweet baby boy. It was so wonderful finally meeting little Easton in person.

Congratulations, Brittany and James! You have a beautiful family. Thank you for having me document these cherished moments for you.
