Sara and Patrick Home Wedding | Connecticut Wedding Photographer

Sara and Patrick were married the weekend before Christmas with close friends and family in their very own living room. I love the romantic simplicity of getting married right at home. I hope that every time Patrick and Sara step into their living room that they are reminded of their beautiful wedding day shared with their closest loved ones. They moved to Connecticut quite recently and they are already making incredible memories in their new home. It was an honor to be invited to capture the day with my camera.

Patrick got ready with his family at his brother and sister-in-law’s home by the shoreline. Despite it being a chilly December day, just days away from Christmas, it was a beautiful sunny day.

When Patrick was ready for his big day his family celebrated with a toast to the groom.

Meanwhile, several towns away at home, Sara was getting ready with her friends and family. The Florist, Melissa, was busy creating a whimsical and beautiful setting for the ceremony and reception in their living room while Sara was getting her hair done upstairs.

Presto, their dog, and their two cats were home picking up on the excitement of the day.

Sara’s friend Kathryn did a fantastic job with the hair styling and helped Sara with her make up, although Sara did most of her makeup on her own.

Sara and Patrick’s rings are vintage from Bell & Bird. The bride’s ring is early 1900s 14k gold milgrain edge band paired with a 18k channel pavé set diamond eternity gold ring while the Grooms ring was found in London and is an early 19th century 22k ribboned gold band with rare English hallmarks that confirm it as as period piece.

Every flower from the bouquet to the staircase was stunning.

Meanwhile, Sara’s good friend and bridesmaid Santi was preparing the reception settings downstairs.

Sara’s something borrowed and something blue was a sapphire ring borrowed from her aunt.

Sara’s friend and Maid of Honor, Kendra, was also the officiant for their wedding day and she did a lovely job with the ceremony.

Their dog Presto had to stop by to say hello at the start of the ceremony.

A quick note for friends and family: I took many group and family photos through the day and the reception. If you do not see a photo you remember me taking or do not see a group photo you are looking for here, Sara and Patrick will have the complete set of images when they are all edited. I really wish I could share them all, but I can only post so many so I do my best to select the images that I feel tell the story of the day. I did my best to capture each guest, as I know how important the wedding is to all who were there.

After the ceremony we slipped away to a local park for a few photos. It was extremely chilly and Patrick did his best to keep Sara warm although he was cold himself. That first winter moving back to New England is always a chilly surprise. Despite the cold, the afternoon light was lovely and the blue sky reflected off the water in beautiful pastels.

Kendra is a phenomenal friend and maid of honor. She stayed nearby holding Sara’s coat between photos and was also involved behind the scenes at their engagement session. Every bride deserves a friend like Kendra. Kendra, thank you for all of your help.

While we were taking photos outside, the caterers were busy transforming the living room into a beautiful dining room.

Each guest was given a fun animal mask and a photograph from their engagements session.

I love this close up of Presto trying to get a bite of the wedding cake!

Congratulations Sara and Patrick! Wishing you both every happiness in the new year.
