Meghan & Tad | Candlelight Farms Wedding | September 27, 2020

Meghan and Tad’s wedding was an event I was looking forward to all summer long. After their spring wedding was postponed, they managed to reschedule it for the end of September for an outdoor wedding to remember. Meghan’s spring color palette and florals were a refreshing theme for fall. I know how much Meghan was hoping for a spring wedding this year so I hope that the beautiful photos we captured in the garden at Candlelight Farms Inn  and of her gorgeous flowers capture the spirit of spring. Weddings this year did not go according to plan, but I have found them to be remarkably beautiful and memorable despite the challenges everyone has faced. If anything, it has given more significance and gratitude for moments just like these. With all of my spring and summer weddings pushed back as micro weddings and elopements for autumn this year, it has been a busy season, but also a joyful one.

I have the honor of being a high school friend of Meghan and her sister Tori’s. I knew Tad in passing, but never had any classes with him during our high school days. It had been an absolute pleasure getting to know Tad over our photo adventures this past year and seeing so many of my old classmates. It felt amazing seeing so many of the Pomperaug class of 2008 at the wedding. It is an incredible feeling knowing that your peers are happy and thriving. Meghan and Tad, I wish you every happiness. It was an honor to photograph your wedding day.

I tried my best to fit in as many photos as I could, especially on the dance floor and at Tad’s request I did post some of the funny “out takes.” The dance floors have been more epic this season than usual and I’m sure that the lock downs might have something to do with it. I swear, the dancing at every reception this year just keeps getting better and better and Meghan and Tad’s wedding takes the cake. There are some photos that I usually save for the USB only, but I have Tad’s permission to give you my favorite bloopers, silly faces, and laugh out loud moments. You can thank Tad.  If you remember being in a group photo, but don’t see it here, there are hundreds more where these came from and Meghan and Tad will have them all when they receive their final collection of images.

The day started overcast at the Candlelight Farms Inn in the picturesque hills of New Milford, Connecticut, just as the leaves decided to pop for their first signs of fall colors. Meghan and Tad got ready for their big day together at the cutest little cottage at Candlelight Farm, saving the dress and suit for their first look. Tori and her mother prepared flowers for the reception tables and ceremony chairs while the groomsmen brought the beverages and decorations down the hill to the airport where the reception was taking place. It was such a lovely and relaxed morning, which gave me extra time to explore the gardens for photos, especially for pictures of the dress. The ceremony took place next to the Candlelight Farm Air Port and the guests had the delight of seeing a small plane take off during the ceremony right before the first kiss!

I hope that you enjoy these photos. Congratulations, Meghan and Tad!
