Lauren & Tommy | Laurel Ridge Spring Engagement | Connecticut Wedding Photographer

I never take my role as a lifestyle photojournalist for granted; I know just how important photographs can be for our memories, celebrating our life’s greatest joys, and to memorialize a specific moment in our lives. This is a responsibility that I do not take lightly and I feel so honored with every engagement, every wedding, and every lifestyle session I am selected to document. I know just how important each photo session is to our families and for our loved ones; and this one in particular will be celebrated with my family because the subjects of this engagement session are my cousin Tommy and his beautiful fiancé Lauren! It is a true honor to photograph the people in my life that I love. This love for family photos is what inspired me to want to take photos for others.

Tommy and Lauren, thank you so much for your patience these past several weeks as I have been editing and selecting the top photographs for you. I am so unbelievably happy for you both and I am looking forward to celebrating your marriage with you at your wedding this autumn. I hope that you enjoy the collection of images we created together and that they surpass your expectations. A lot of love went into each and every photo. I love you both!

We photographed Lauren and Tommy’s engagement session at the Laurel Ridge daffodil fields in Litchfield on a chilly spring day. Tommy and Lauren did a great job making this look like a warm and cozy day and we warmed up between photos. We made it just after the flowers hit their peak.

This moment reminds me of the Tim Burton film ‘Big Fish’ when Ewan McGregor’s character surprises his love with a field of daffodils outside her window.

Right before the sun set we did an outfit change to capture these stunning photos during golden hour. It is amazing how different the field looks in the late evening sun light. Lauren’s favorite color is black so I brought this dramatic black skirt to put over he dress to give her all the epic black dress photos we could create.

This last photo is one of my favorite images of the night. Tommy, you did a great job fluffing Lauren’s skirt!

Congratulations Lauren and Tommy! Tommy, thank you for bringing Lauren into our lives and Lauren, you have been an honorary cousin for a while now and I am so glad you are becoming my cousin this year. I love you both.

To all other guests on this post, please leave some love in the comments below for Tommy and Lauren!
