Katie and Greg were married at Haley Mansion at the Inn at Mystic on Friday, September 15th. They had a beautiful, slightly breezy day on the Connecticut shoreline. Mystic holds a special place in their heart as Greg’s family often vacations in Mystic during their summers. Their first look took place at the very cottage their family rents on Mason’s Island, just minutes away from the venue. (And their cat Charles also made a fun cameo during the first look!) The Inn at Mystic was the perfect setting to share their vows with one another and their loved ones and I am happy to share with you the story of their day.
Every moment was lovingly planned from the handmade vases Katie made for each reception table to their heartfelt vows. Greg proposed to Katie with his grandmother’s ring and Katie had her grandmother’s engagement and weddings rings at the wedding. The wedding ceremony took place behind Haley Mansion and the beautiful gardens. They both share a love of playing the saxophone, which inspired them to hire saxophonist Matty Bernier to play and DJ their wedding reception. I am looking forward to sharing all of these moments that I have documented with you. I hope that it tells their unique wedding story.
As always, I wish I could share every image from their wedding day, so I do my best to tell the story of their wedding day with a curated selection from the wedding starting with getting ready to the end of the reception. Katie and Greg will be given the full collection of their images. If you do not see a special group photo or moment you remember seeing me capturing, I promise that Katie and Greg will have it with their full collection. I cannot share every group portrait, entrance or aisle walk, but I hope that this collection of photographs captures the feeling and emotions of the day and that there are beautiful memories captured in these photographs to be treasured.
Greg and Katie, Congratulations on your wedding. It was an absolute honor to document your wedding day.
The ring in the middle is Katie’s engagement ring, the one that once belonged to Greg’s grandmother. The rings on each side were Katie’s grandmother’s engagement and wedding ring. These special rings brought a lifetime of love to their owners, which is such a blessing to have at their wedding.
Maid of honor, Katie, drove Katie to Mason’s Island for their first look.
They had the most beautiful setting and sunny day for a waterfront first look.
Charles, their sweet cat, was watching Katie and Greg’s first look from the window. For his safety he was kept inside, but what a great way to have their cat as a part of their big day. Now I can officially say that I have been able to photograph a wedding cat!
Matty B opened the ceremony with some live music.
I love this moment between Greg and his brother Lucas.
The wedding was officiated by Humza, a good friend of the couple.
Katie made all these stunning vases by hand!
Katie and Greg both played the saxophone and so do many of their guests!
They danced the most beautiful first dance in the gazebo while all of their loved ones watched in awe.
In the father of the groom’s speech, Greg’s father said that on the day they met Katie there was the most beautiful sunset. His father, Greg, went on to say that every time they are together Katie seems to bring the most incredible sunset to them. Then this happened. “Katie, you have brought us all another beautiful sunset,” they told her.
The dance floor was packed the entire night! That is my favorite kind of wedding reception. Look at how much fun everyone had!
Everyone in this photo plays the saxophone!
Congratulations, Katie and Greg! Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness.
Family and friends, please leave some love for Katie and Greg in the comments below!
