Jennie & David | Wood Acres Farm Wedding | Connecticut Wedding Photographer

Jennie and David were married at Wood Acres Farm in Terryville, Connecticut on August 20th. Jennie was one of my very first friends when I was a child in elementary school and it has been such an honor documenting such an important day in her life. I am so happy for her and David, who I have enjoyed getting to know this year. David has the best ability to get Jennie to laugh. Throughout the entire day I overheard guests and wedding vendors alike mention how wonderful Jennie and David are as a couple and how kind they are to everyone in their lives. After several wedding delays and rescheduling, I am so happy that they both had the wedding they deserved. Jennie and David, Congratulations! Wishing you every happiness for the next chapter of your lives together.

I wish I could share every photo (I took over 4000 and I am still going through images!) but I hope I have compiled the best highlights of Jennie and David’s special day. The focus of this blog post is on the special getting ready moments, the ceremony, the details that made up their day, and some highlights from the reception. There are so many portraits, group pictures, and dancing photos that simply could not fit. If you were at the wedding and do not see yourself here, I promise that Jennie and David will have all the photos that they may share with you soon. I hope that the images I have selected tell the story of David and Jennie’s wedding day.

Jennie and David have two cats. One of them was hiding from the bridesmaids and makeup artists, but this lovely fellow sat by and watched everything unfolding.

As the guys were getting ready the ladies were at the bridal suite.

A moment of quiet before the ceremony.

Before the ceremony it started to rain even though there was no rain in the forecast, but just as the ceremony was about to begin the rain stopped falling. I had a wedding last year where the same thing happened and I always take it as a blessing and a good sign for a happy marriage. Just as the guests were to take their seats and the carriage pulled up to the bridal suite the clouds parted. The clouds departed at the perfect moment, like it was scripted for a romantic movie.

Jennie arrived to the ceremony in a beautiful horse drawn carriage with her father and two flower girls. It was like a true life fairytale.

The guests had no idea that a horse drawn carriage was about to arrive with the bride. The surprise of the crowd was memorable, but my favorite reaction was the look on Jennie’s grandmother’s face as she began to cry in joy for her beautiful granddaughter.

David’s parents look on with joy as the flower girls begin the ceremony.

At the end of the ceremony Jennie and David took off for a private carriage ride together.

The lovely hydrangeas decorating the reception were from Jennie’s grandmother’s garden.

David’s cousin Sherry of Sherry Bakes made this absolutely stunning wedding cake as well as a surprise groom’s cake that was brought out later in the reception. I have included her information at the end of this post with the wedding vendor links.

Congratulations Jennie and David!
