Jennie and David are getting married this August! With the pandemic delaying their wedding three times, we knew we would have to celebrate before the wedding with some epic engagement images. If you missed engagement photos because of recent events and are worried that there isn’t any time before the wedding to take them, just know that the purpose of the engagement images isn’t just for the save the date cards, they are for you. These moments are yours alone. The engagement session is often the only time when a couple gets professional portraits taken before their wedding and those moments are worth celebrating. These photos won’t be making any engagement announcement cards this year, but I do hope that they will hold a special place for Jennie and David and grace the walls of their home too.
I was so thrilled to capture Jennie’s engagement as my first engagement of the season because I have known Jennie since fourth grade. We were the best of friends in elementary school and although many years have passed we have stayed in touch. Seeing Jennie again as we planned her photos was like no time had gone by at all. I was so happy to finally be able to meet David before the wedding day. It really warms my heart to see how happy Jennie is with David and to see them together is one of the special moments about being a wedding photographer. I love how David makes Jennie laugh. Ladies, find yourself a man that makes you smile the way David does for Jennie.
We started the engagement session before sunset at Topsmead State Forest and ended the evening for sunset at a local lake. The sun was setting fast, but we caught some truly romantic images that I hope Jennie and David will cherish.
David, it was so wonderful to finally meet the man that my friend has fallen in love with. And Jennie, I am so happy to see you happy. I cannot wait to celebrate with you on your wedding day this summer. Wishing you both a summer of happiness.
These photos are giving me Princess Bride vibes.
Jennie’s beautiful and elegant engagement ring.
Sometimes I make the oddest requests, but I promise that I always have a vision in mind. When I mentioned the Jennie and David that I wanted to end the night with a walk into the lake they were up for the challenge and we ended up capturing these incredible moments right before the sun went down behind the hills.
How beautiful is this dress? When Jennie mentioned she snagged a prom dress from TJ Maxx just a couple hours before for this photo shoot I had no idea she was about to unveil this gorgeous gown. Absolutely stunning.
Please leave warm wishes for Jennie and David in the comments below.
