Brittney & John | Pond House Cafe Wedding at Elizabeth Park

A special congratulations to Brittney and John. As a wedding photographer, one of the greatest joys is to work with a couple as in love as these two. The spring rain on their wedding day could not dampen their joy. The day started at the beautiful Goodwin Hotel in Hartford Connecticut and the ceremony took place inside the lovely Pond House Cafe at Elizabeth Park.

Due to the rain, we took the first look and bridal portraits inside at the Goodwin Hotel’s gorgeous red library and bar. They have quickly become some of my favorite wedding portraits that I have ever taken. I knew when I set up the light and saw the first few shots in my camera that we were capturing something special.

Although I wish I could share them all, only a curated collection makes its way into the blog post. There are many more beautiful moments, portraits and details that Brittney and John will have in their final collection of images. I hope that I chose the best to highlight the beautiful moments of their day.

 

Brittney had the most beautiful and whimsical details in her wedding, from the butterflies in her hair to the flowers in her veil (and John’s matching tie!) and floral tablecloth, everything was planned to represent their joy.

The ceremony took place in the ballroom of the Pond House Cafe. After the ceremony, it was quickly transformed for the reception.

The rain held off long enough for some photos in the garden.

How beautiful are Brittney’s bouquet and veil? I love that John’s tie matches with bright florals.

Cat lovers, how much fun is this temporary tattoo bar with their cats faces? It’s the best when couples celebrate their pet family members at the wedding.
