Katie & Greg | Elizabeth Park Engagement | Connecticut Engagement Photographer

At the start of summer and the very peak of the roses at Elizabeth Park in West Hartford, Katie, Greg, and I met up for an early morning engagement session in the garden. The sun was unnaturally bright that morning, making all of the roses vibrant with color. The garden was completely alive and abundant with blooms, but because of the early hour we had the garden mostly to ourselves. I cannot imagine a better scenario for a summer engagement. The bright sun posed a few challenges for photos, but it created such a pop of color that it was more than worth it. The sky was a bright eggshell blue and thousands of roses filled every arch and walkway. It felt like the garden of a fairytale, the perfect setting for an engagement shoot.

Katie and Greg were absolutely lovely to photograph. I am vey thankful of their patience while waiting for their photos as I have been away for a couple weddings in Italy this summer. It was a delight to come home to edit these stunning photos. Katie and Greg’s love for one another is sweeter than any rose in this garden and I am looking forward to seeing them again on their wedding day in Mystic.

Greg proposed by the water with his grandmother’s ring. How lovely is this precious heirloom?

This wall of roses created the perfect little backdrop for photos.

Congratulations, Greg and Katie! It has been a pleasure getting to know you and learn about your love story. I cannot wait to photograph your celebrations in Mystic. Wishing you both a lovely summer!
